To drive holiday shoppers to small and independent business, American Express small business unit “OPEN” has declared Saturday August 27, 2010 (the day after thanksgiving) Small Business Saturday.

American Express is giving free Facebook advertising to the first 10,000 business that signup for the program at SmallBusinssSaturday.com. With Facebook advertising, businesses can create a geo targeted ad campaign to reach consumers in their local area.

In order to quality, business must signup by November 18 to qualify.
